This piece was made for Workshop of Art and Art Research in fall of 2018 and is about the differences between where I am from and where my parents and grandparents are from. The circle in the middle of both is Syracuse New York, where I was born, surrounding the circle in the first image is Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where both my father and his parents are from. In the second image the top and the bottom (Baghdad, Iraq and Seville, Spain) are where my maternal grandparents are from while the square in the middle is Mexico City, Mexico where my mother is from.
